In 1919, the Schwarzwaelder Textil-Werke were created by Heinrich Kautzmann and until 1974 dealt primarily with the production of reprocessed materials in a variety of fibre types, colours and grades.
Production of fibre fillers and short, chopped fibres began as early as the 1950´s. Originally, these products were used for reinforcing thermosetting resins but were soon employed to reinforce paints and plasters. By virtue of continuous product development, the most modern of production facilities, and as a response to steadily increasing demand for fibres as replacements for asbestos, we have now become one of the leading manufacturers of fibre fillers and short chopped fibres.
Decades of experience and the technical know-how which we have acquired are fundamental to the consolidation and future expansion of the market-leading position we have already succeeded in achieving already, in many fields.

More Information We the Schwarzwaelder Textil-Werke Heinrich Kautzmann GmbH are a producer of ground and cutted fibres on the basis of cotton, polyacrylonitrile, glass, polypropylene, aramid, polyacrylonitrile pulp as a fibre filler, fibre short cut and pulp.
Since more than 50 years STW has been producing fibres, fibre fillers and short cut for thermosetting and thermoplastic, synthetic materials, plasters, adhesive products, fillers, bituminous products, filter papers, special papers as well as some products of the car industry.
Our cotton fibres, aramid fibres, cellulose fibres, glass fibres, jute fibres, carbon fibres, mineral fibres, polyacrylonitrile fibres, polyamide fibres, polyester fibres, polypropylene fibres and rayon mostly serve for reinforcement, crack prevention, thixotropy and for a better processing.
There are many terms specifying our products and their fields of application: fibre filler, fibrids, fabric shreds, cutted threads and fibre short cut. They consist of aramid fibres, cotton fibres, cellulose fibres, glass fibres, jute fibres, carbon fibres, mineral fibres, polyacrylonitrile fibres, polyamide fibres, polyester fibres, polypropylene fibres and rayon and find application in protection of buildings, products for building, friction linings, paper and rubber products.
In connection to our products ones have to name additionally the terms environmental policy, environmental ambitions, the preserve of resources, recycling, decades of experience, pulp, service, modern methods of production as well as technical know how.
Furthermore, you will find us at several exhibitions where you have the possibility to learn about our range of products which includes our natural fibres as cotton fibres, jute fibres, viscose fibres, hemp fibres and sisal fibres as well as our synthetic fibres such as polyacrylonitrile fibres, polyamide fibres, polyester fibres, polypropylene fibres and polyvinyl alcohol fibres.
